2004 (Tentative) Schedule has been posted
12/23/03 - The 2004 schedule has been posted tentatively to give you a chance to start to line up you schedule. The schedule will be finalized shortly after the beginning of the year. We will once again have 10 points races. Due to the success of our end of season Top 16 Gamblers race, we have added this event to the end of our schedule. This will again be an invitation only race. We will be announcing potential makeup dates in the event one of our events is postponed due to weather when the schdule is finalized.

12/06/03 - Don't let the holiday hustle and bustle get you down because you've got something the look forward to! The 2nd Annual ECS Corvette Challenge Awards Banquet presented by CCW is only five weeks away and that only means the racing season follows soon after that. For the banquet we have alrady gathered a couple of door prizes; Rob Farley donated a Geddex track package contain 1 each of Burnout Gaurd, Slick Air and Dial In and Edgar Perez has donated a cool C5-R race mouse to keep you occupied over the winter. In addition, a number of sponsors have donated a cool mini motorcycle that will be raffled off that night. Tickets for the mini-bike are $20 each and the winner does NOT need to be present. 11/25/03 - We received the very sad news tonight that Keith Brownlee passed away at home on Saturday night, 11/22/03, after a short battle with liver cancer. Funeral arrangements have not been announced yet. The funeral home information is as follows:

Bob Sebrowski wins the Top 16 and the $1,000!
11/22/03 - Bob Sebrowksi came finished the season 15th position and went to the final in the Top 16 race and defeated James Peins who came into the ladder from the 18th position as an alternate. This final proved that not only our top 10 but drivers as deep and in the middle of of the pack can be threats to win. For complet detials of the day click here.

Quick 4 + 4 Nov 15 Clarification
11/12/03 - A number of drivers have asked if drivers are required to be points racers to qualify now that the points season is over and this race being a non-points race. There is, NO! You do NOT have to be a points racer to qualify for this special, one-time, Vette Doctors Quick 4 + 4. All drivers who meet the NHRA and Old Bridge Township Raceway Park safety (see message regarding rule enforcement) and noise regulations are eligible. More detials on rules.

George Esposito wins his first Corvette Challenge in Event 9
10/25/03 - Keeping with his strong season showing, George Esposito won his first Corvette Challenge event in his second final appearance of the year. Esposito beat out Vic Gandhi in a very close race in Gandhi's first final apperarance. [Click for full details]

10/17/03 - We wanted to end the season with the opportunity to let the Top 16 points drivers square off against each other. Now we have that opportunity. On November 22, 2003 the Top 16 drivers are invited to race in $1,000 (one thousand dollar) gamblers race. More.
Announcing Quick 4 + 4 .... A Quick 8
10/15/03 - With the success of The Vette Doctors Quick 4 racing this year, Raceway Park has agreed to add on one more Quick Heads Up race for 2003 and it will be a Corvette Challenge Quick 8. So don't put your race car away yet. On November 15, 2003, we will hold a Quick 8 heads-up pro tree class in addition to our regular non-points bracket class. All Quick 4 rules will apply with the exception of the requirement to the run the brackets, (added 11/12/03 Since this is a non-points race, non-points racers will be allowed to qualify for the Quick 4 + 4). For this race only, a Quick 8 qualifier can opt not to race in the bracket class. A good Quick 8 showing can lead to good things for the series within a series. Mark your calendar and don't miss the Quick 8 on Nov 15, 2003 9 AM.
Corvettes and Halloween at Raceway Park
10/14/03 - Old Bridge Township Raceway Park is having a Halloween Monster Madness & Family Fun Fest at the track featuring monster truck hay rides, pumpkin picking, fire truck rides, trick or treating and a haunted forest for families over the next two weeks (more info click here). On Halloween night, October 31, they have invited some racers to bring their race cars and families (especially children) to give out candy from their race car to kids at the event and give parent a chance to see what types of racing is done at Raceway Park. The ECS Corvette Challenge is welcome to have representation. We need a few volunteer drivers to bring their Corvette to participate. Your admission will be complimentary as a guest of Raceway Park who will supply the candy you will be giving away. This is a great opportunity to market our series and have some fun with the kids. 10/14/03 - Okay, so if you recall, I recently lost a lot of my files so I had to recreate our points file. Just to be sure, please review your performance and confirm it is correct. Raceway Park is the official keeper of points. I started with their total and worked back to the the prior 8 races to get individual race performance. 10/09/03 - This weekend we have our eighth event of the year on Saturday, Oct 11 at 9 AM. This event will not only feature bracket racing but also the return of the Quick 4. The weather has cooled from those hot and humid July and August dates and we look forward to see your return. As always, drive careful to the track so you can have a great time.

Sept 20 Event RESCHEDULED to October 11th
9/18/03 - The Sep 20 race has now been resheduled to Saturday, October 11, 2003. It will be a morning event with gate opening at 9 AM and it will be an ALL DAY event. There will not be an evening session so our event will run long. We will be sharing the day with SLP who is host their Customer Appeciation Day. If you would like to participate in the SLP event at the same time as ours, click on the SLP link in the prior sentence to register (you must pre-register to get the SLP goodie bag). Our event will work the same as previous events and does not require pre-registration, nor is associated with the SLP event. You will buy your tech for the ECS CC as normal and if you register for the SLP event you will buy a seperate tech card fo that and see SLP representatives for your goodie bag. Should be a fun day of racing for us.
ECS CC Event for Sept 20, 2003 CANCELLED
9/12/03 - Due to the rain anticipated for 9/13 and postponed of the Diesel Truck Nationals at Raceway Park, all Saturday 9/20 racing at E-town has been cancelled, including our East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge. The Diesel Truck Nationals will be moved to 9/20. We attempt to locate a make-up but none is planned as of now. Please check back for further announcements.
Artie Sabatino wins Event 7, Mike Romain wins Quick 4 and Joe Blass goes to the Bracket Finals
9/6/03 - Congratulations go out to Artie Sabatino who won his first career East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge and to Mike Romain won the third Vette Doctors Quick 4 of 2003. Joe Blass went to the semi finals today to solidify himself as the points leader and earn the right to go to the NHRA Summit Bracket Finals. 9/5/03 - Our next race, this weekend, Satruday, September 6th at 3 PM, is going to be a very exciting one. Not only do we come in with three driver battling it out for the points lead and a chance to represent Raceway Park and the East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge at the NHRA Summit Racing Bracket finals, but we also have the third Vette Doctors Quick 4 race featuring heads up 9 and 10 second Vettes and a heated Rookie points battle as well (see Standings), and more importantly, cooler weather. ECS Challenge Event 6 called after one round due to rain
9/3/03 - The August 30 race was called due to rain after one round with 30 drivers splitting the winning pot. Points were awarded for the completed round for racers in attendance. Results for the race can be seen at http://www.2003round6.php

Starting time for the Quick 4 has changed
8/15/03 - The Vette Doctors Quick 4 starting time has been changed, effective this weekend, to allow for a larger number of Corvette Challenge participants to watch. Now instead of the Q4 first round happening while we are all taking our time trials and having to stay by our cars, it will be held at the beginning of the brackets third round. This should happen approximately an hour and a half after brackets first round. So if you don't make it past first and second round of the brackets, stick around and watch the Quick 4 light up the track in some serious 9 second heads up action. The Q4 final round will occur before our brackets semi-final round.
Schedule update: New time for September 6th race
The race scheduled will be moved to the afternoon/evening due to a conflict with another import event. Please make note the Sep 6, 2003 race will have the gates opening for us at 3 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

New feature added to web site
8/1/03 - Now drivers can sort the points standings to see where they stood after a particular event. This sorting feature allows you to view how you moved up or down in the standings throughout the season. When drivers are tied (points, wins, tiebreak negative number are the same) the sorting is done by last name. Visit 2002 final standings here or 2003 current standings here. These links will be found in the future under the Top 10 box on the left hand side of each page.

Only 7 drivers are on their way to a perfect season
7/26/03 - As of 4 races, only 7 drivers remain with the possibility of having a perfect 1st round season. Only these drivers have come to each of the first four races and won the first round in all of them. These drivers will be featured on Saturday's in the box on the left side of this page under the "Featured Stat of the Day" box. Unfortunate, no driver was able to accomplish the perfect season.

7/22/03 - Saturday 7/26 is our next race at 3 PM. However in the morning session is the Vette Magazine Show & Go presented by Corvette Express at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. During the morning session we will have a tent to help promote the series. The tent will be located at next to the food stand and souvenir stand and restrooms. You can come to the Show &Go and get your car judged, autocross and drag race to warm up for our event in the evening. Race Day is Upon Us
6/26/03 - With only 2 days to our next race, it looks like the wait is over. Forecast is shaping up to be a really nice day for us to race on Saturday, June 28, 2003. We will have a procession up the return road in memory of Dave Ramsden. The procession will happen before our first time trial (around 9:30 AM). Please come early to this race so that you may participate in the procession. Gates will open right around 9 AM (hopefully a little before). See you all there.

6/21/03 - With one week to our second event of the year, Top 4 race points count has shortened to best of 4 instead of best of 6 races. The Top 4 points leaders after the July 26th race will be invited to participate in the Wednesday, August 6, 2003, 33rd Annual PC Richard & Son ALL AMERICAN JET CAR NATIONALS & MONSTER TRUCK CRUSH JAM at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. We did this last year and it was a lot of fun for the participants. Here is what you will see

Corvette Challenge Driver Dave Ramsden passes away
Dave Ramsden, Callaway95 6/6/03 - On the evening of June 5, 2003, fellow Corvette Challenge driver, Dave Ramsden was killed in an vehicle accident in the Las Vegas area. We will all miss Dave very much. A tribute page is available here. Dave will be remembered at our next race, June 28, 2003.
Corvette Challenge on Video Now Available
6/4/03 - Now you can own a copy of the episode of "Corvette, The American Dream" television show that was shot on site at the Eckler's Florida Corvette Challenge on April 26, 2003. The show features interviews with organizers and racers as well as track testing of the BFG 18" Drag Radial and various aftermarket air intakes. 5/29/03 - We have just received word from Raceway Park and they have given us two make-up dates for our last two rained out events. Event 2 (rained out 4/5) will be made up on Saturday August 30, 2003 and Event 3 (rained out 5/24) including the Quick 4 will be made up Saturday September 6, 2003. Event 3 of 2003 Rained Out
5/24/03 - Nature got the best of us again today raining out our 2nd consecutive East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge which also featured The Vette Doctors Quick 4. ECS Corvette Challenge drivers fair well in Ecklers Corvette Challenge in Florida
5/3/03 - New Jersey ECS Corvette Challenge racers, Danny Rotondo, Ernie King, Edgar Perez and Rich Shuleski came out to the Ecklers Corvette Challenge on 4/26/02. Rotondo fair well by going to the third round and King won the Quick ET Plaque with an 11.83 pass. Shuleski did not have his car there so he did not race. Perez, in a borrowed C5, did not fair well losing first round by running a tenth off the dial on a very late light. Road Trip to Ecklers Corvette Challenge in Florida 4/26
4/11/03 - Okay Corvette Challenge participants. This is the chance we have all been waiting for. A promotion Dream. The Corvette Challenge on TELEVISION. Don't let the moment pass you by. Ecklers, the title sponsor of the Ecklers Florida Corvette Challenge is bringing the film crew to Bradenton Motorsports park in Bradenton Florida for the Corvette Challenge race on Saturday April 26th at 8 am.

I am taking a few days off and will lead a caravan (hopefully not of one) to race and support the Corvette Challenge in Florida. Team Panuzzo adds $50 cash to Best RT Trophy
2/23/03 - Team Panuzzo, who awards the John Panuzzo Jr Memorial Trophy to the driver with the best Reaction Time in the 1st round of Corvette Challenge events, announces today the addition of a $50 cash prize to go along with the Trophy. The new cash prize is made possible with the assistance of Team Panuzzo members, Ralph Savarese, Chris Young, Frank Fiori and Rob Farley. Romolo Cifelli to be remembered at Corvette Challenge race March 22, 2003
2/19/03 - Today Raceway Park approved a procession down the drag strip to in remembrance of Romolo Cifelli who passed away on Feb 13, 2003. The Procession will take place prior to our 1st round on Saturday March 22, 2003 (roughly noon). All Corvettes participating in the Corvette Challenge will be brought under the tower and will proceed up the track in a slow roll up the 1/4 mile where Romolo spent so much of his time. Please join us in honoring our friend Romolo. For those who do not have a Corvette and would like to participate, we will be allowed to have a passenger in the car with us so you can pair up with someone for the procession. Romolo Cifelli suffers fatal injuries in crash
2/18/03 - On Thursday evening, February 13, 2003, Romolo Cifelli, fellow Corvette Challenge Racer and Challenge supporting sponsor, suffered fatal injuries when he was involved in an accident in his 2000 Nassau Blue Corvette with 2 white stripes painted on them. Today our friend was laid to rest. A collection is being taken to buy a brick in memory of Romolo at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. For more details click here.Corvette Challenge

1/23/02 - Raceway Park will be inviting the Top 4 Corvette Challenge points racers to the 23rd Annual P.C. Richard & Son All American Jet Car Nationals on Wednesday night, August 6, 2003. The Top 4 points leaders after Event 6 July 26th will be invited. We had the honor of sending 4 racers to last years event and it was a great time. Attention Racers - New Pricing for 2003 Events
1/22/03 - Well inflation has hit the racers, as Old Bridge Township Raceway Park has announced that there will be a increase at the gate for the 2003 season. The 2003 ECS Corvette Challenge will have $25 Event Entry Fee. This is the first increase in many years at Raceway Park.
1st Round Trophy Upgrade Program announced beginning 2003 Season

New for 2003, we are going to the NHRA Bracket Finals!
12/11/02 - In recognition of how this series has grown, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park has decided that they will invite our points leading Corvette Challenge driver in 2003 to represent them as a member of "Team Raceway Park" in the NHRA Division 1 Bracket Finals in Fall 2003. This is going to be a great honor as only the top points earners in the top series' across the country participate in this. The lucky participant not only earn points for "Team Raceway Park" in a track competition, but will also compete for a chance at a trip to compete for the National Championship and for cash and prizes from NHRA. 2001 Champion Bob Trieschmann and 2002 Rookie of the Year Rob Farley have participated in this as part of other series' they participate in and can tell you just how exciting it is. NHRA covers these events and you can see results from this year's event at www.nhra.com/2002/summit/div1/. We will have National Dragster Magazine articles from the 2002 Bracket Finals available at the banquet for your review. More details on this event will follow as they become available.
Announcing the 2003 Corvette Challenge Schedule
12/10/02 - Today the Corvette Challenge and Raceway Park are proud to announce the 2003 schedule. The Bracket racing series will be in it's 5th year in 2003 and it promises to be it's biggest year with 11 total races of which 10 will be Points Championship Races. The complete 2003 schedule can be seen in the top left box of this page.

The Quick 4 returns in 2003 giving you some of the quickest and fastest Corvettes in the world as a feature of the Corvette Challenge Drag Racing Series. The Quick 4 in it's second year grows to 4 events and in addition will be an additional points series in which a Quick 4 Champion will be crowned at the end of the season as well. The Quick 4 schedule is also on the top left of this page.
