2007 Points information

The Vette Doctors Pro 8 Shootout and Cartek Racing Pro 10.0 class points will be kept by Raceway Park.  You MUST sign up for points if you wish to compete for the Championship.  You do not have to sign up for points to participate but you do have to sign up for points to be eligible for POINTS prizes for eithe of our "Pro" (as in Pro Tree) classes

Points are earned only for the class in which you compete. Any driver can chose to sign up for any and all classes (Pro 8 Shootout, Pro 10.0 Index or Corvette Challenge), separately. If you plan on competing in the Raceway Park Points Series for 2007 the points will be as follows;

Please Note, this points system only applies to Pro 8 Shootout and Pro 10.0 Index classes and the same points system used for the Corvette Challenge (Bracket) series is has not changed and remains the same as previous years.

How points are awarded

  1. 10 points for successfully passing technical inspection
  2.   8 points for number 1 qualifier, 7 points for number 2, 6 for 3rd, 5 for 4th, 4 for 5th, 3 for 6th, 2 for 7th and 1 for 8th
  3. 20 points for staging your car in the first round of eliminations under power
  4. 20 points for each round won during eliminations

Tie breakers are as follows

  1. Event wins
  2. Number of round wins
  3. Head to Head matches
  4. Average Qualifying ET
  5. Average Qualifying MPH

Raceway Park is the official keeper of points. On the Saturday after a race, we will post preliminary point standings on this website. Complete and official points will be posted here after Raceway Park posts them on Tuesday following a race. Power points will not be updated until Tuesday. It is the drivers responsibility to ensure points are calculated correctly. Discrpenacies must be reported to Raceway Park before the next race's points are calculated in order to get credit for the points
