After a long winter lengthened by a rainout of the first event, the Pro-10.0 guys finally were able to put on a show. And what a show they put on. There were numerous close races.

Qualifying

First up for qualifying was Mike Conway with his '95 red C-5 with the original block and Joe Latona representing Cartek. Mike ripped off a 10.193 at 131.32 mph to Joe's 11.007. Next up was a couple of drivers who were running new set-ups with their cars. Mark Shaw ran a 10.741 to Chris Young's 9.981. Rob Zona in his black '03 Vette and David Shen with his small block 383 '65 Vette were the third pair to take a shot at qualifying. Zona appeared to miss a shift on his way to a 13.340 and Shen shot down the track to net a 10.126 @ 131.34 mph which put him on top of the ladder after the first round of qualifying. The fourth set of cars consisted of Alan Eckert who blazed down the track in 9.807 seconds and Jerry Land who put up a 10.449. Edgar Perez and Wayne Keegan put on a show of contrasts in the fifth pair. Keegan with his '80 468 big block C-3 Vette looked like he carried his front wheels to about the 60' mark on his way to a 10.214. Perez with his "little 402" was having a fuel issue which caused him to have a 14.493 run. The last pair to try to make the field was Tommy Michalkowski with his '97 Vette and Stephen Schawaroch with his '03. Michalkowski laid down a 10.672 to Schawaroch's 11.875.

The second round of qualifying brought up Mark Shaw with his 511 big block C-3 with "a little nitrous" in the right lane and George Smith with his blue 74 C-3 Vette in the left. Smith launched his wheels high which sent him bouncing down the track in the first 330' on his way to a 11.237. Mark Shaw rocketed down the track to trap a 9.575 @ 142.76 mph, the fastest run of the day. He was left hoping that his 10.741 would be good enough to get in. David Shen and Allen Eckert ran next. Shen bettered his time by 0.051 to capture the top spot in the ladder with a 10.075. On the other side of the track, Allen sounded like he missed a shift which translated to a 11.149 run. Both Jerry Land and Edgar Perez bettered their times in the second round, Land with a 10.345 and Perez with a 10.595 ending up fifth and sixth on the ladder. Michael Conway and Chris Young also bettered their times, Conway with a 10.088 and Young with a qualifying 10.131. They ended up second and third on the ladder. Next up was a pair of drivers who unfortunately didn't make the field, Rob Zona who apparently missed a shift and Joe Latona who just missed the field ending up ninth on the ladder. Last up was Keegan with a huge wheels up launch sending him down the track in 10.204 @ 131.91 mph.

Round 1

David Shen and Jerry Land started the Pro-10 season. David had the better reaction time and E.T. to take the win with 10.144 @ 130.97 mph while Jerry had a 10.249 @ 137.22 mph. Next up was Edgar Perez and Michael Conway. Edgar ran a 10.652 @ 122.10 mph using a .089 reaction time advantage to beat Mike's quicker run of 10.585 @ 134.94 mph. In the third pair, Chris Young and Tommy Michalkowski got out of the hole with similar reaction times. At the top end it was Chris's 10.652 @ 122.19 mph that would take the stripe with Tommy following with a 10.745 @ 132.70. The last pair was Wayne Keegan and Mark Shaw. Once again, Wayne launched his wheels high in the air and left .027 seconds before Mark. Mark tried to catch him but took himself out with a 9.946 run @ 116.77 mph to Wayne's 10.104 @ 127.11 mph.

Round 2

Wayne Keegan and Edgar Perez were the first pair up. This time, it was Wayne with hole shot advantage over Edgar. Wayne ran a 10.216 @ 111.17 mph to Edgar's 10.693 @ 128.35 mph. In the second pair, Chris Young took on David Shen. Chris took a .028 light out of the hole! At the top end, both drivers were on the brakes with Chris crossing the line first with a 10.180 @ 123.08 mph to David's 10.080 @ 132.35 mph.

Final Round

In the first Pro-10 final, it was a NY guy, Chris Young, up against New Jersey's Wayne Keegan. Chris, who had been killing the tree all day, did it once again. Out of the hole, Chris used a .054 reaction time advantage to beat Wayne to the stripe. Wayne ran a 10.072 @ 132.87 mph but came up .021 short to Chris's 10.105 @ 129.62 mph. After a long rebuild of his Vette and a nice paint job, Chris Young won the first Pro-10 of 2007.
